Aces Players Earning Elite Status

After another successful season, in the 2022-2023 season and another active off-season training schedule. Multiple Newport Aces players tried out for Bristol Flyers Academy and SGS basketball academy.

Our “Grass-Root to Elite-Class” performance pathway, proved to be efficient and effective once again. As we saw all six players get selected for the SGS Basketball Academy. A massive congrats to; Azaria, Caden, Faiq, Shaiq, Umer, and Isaac.

All will attend SGS college to study their chosen academic subjects, whilst they prepare to compete in the elite academy basketball league (EABL). Azaria will compete in the U18 Women’s northern premier national league and division one women’s national league. Faiq, Shaiq, Caden, Umer, and Isaac, will all compete in the U18 Western premier national league, where they will join fellow Newport Aces player, Max.

Their new training schedule including strength and conditioning with personal trainers, early morning shoot around, midday 121 training and daily team training.

Following in their footsteps, four of our U14 players also got selected for the Bristol Flyers U14 national league team. A massive congrats to Finley, Elliott, Izaiah, and Asa-Jr, whom will all compete in the U14 southern premier national league.

Azaria will play in the u18 women’s northern premier league.

We hope that every player will thrive and enjoy their time, at the next level of competition in England.

Keep an eye out for these players on our social media: @newport_aces_bc
