Aces 24-25 Team Trials

We are pleased to announce our 2024-2025 team trials, taking place at John Frost high school, on:

Saturday 13th July 2024

U14 England regional & Welsh league

U16 England national league & Welsh league

Men Division 2 Welsh league

Monday 15th July 2024

Women West England & Welsh league

We are looking for hardworking players, that are committed to their personal development, representing Newport Aces and passionate about the game of basketball.

Trials are open to players of all experiences, and abilities. That are hardworking, committed and passionate.

The aim of our trial is too identify people that can contribute to the clubs success. Trials will consist of skills and drills needed to compete e.g.;

Flexibility & Athleticism:

Dynamic stretching, explosive and footwork warm up drills.

Ballhandling:

Speed, contested and disadvantage dribbling drills.

Shooting:

Catch & Shoot, off the dribble, game situation and contested drills.

Defence & Rebounding:

Disadvantage games, 1v1 to 4v4 situational games.

Game Situation:

1v1 to 5v5 games, both half and full court.

All drills and activities will offer the opportunity for players to showcase their abilities.
